Title: Gem package
Post by: mcdanelz on July 18, 2007, 02:50:31 PM
Since the only package I could find was the old version and the person that made the package doesn't seem to be around I made a new gem

http://www.celestial-mining.com/s3sync.gem.tar.gz (http://www.celestial-mining.com/s3sync.gem.tar.gz)

Thanks.
Why not update the wiki home page and link to it?  That way people don't have to search here.

ok fixed I think. ignore that old attached file.

If someone could test it and make sure it works for them I'd feel better about making it easier to find.

So is the last attached file the latest version or is the latest version at http://www.celestial-mining.com/s3sync.gem.tar.gz? If not, how do I get a gem version of the latest version?

Is there a reason that the official distribution is not a gem? Is help needed to make a gem as part of the official version?

There is a nice tool for assisting the production of gems:

http://newgem.rubyforge.org/

I would be willing to help if the need is there.

Thanks!
Rob

I am a ruby hack and don't understand how to make gems.  Sure help would be great, either to maintain or instruct.
